Suphanburi National Museum presents history and life styles of people in Suphanburi Province Specifically, it presents historical evidence related to Suphanburi in the past, its evolution
In pre-historical periods, Dvaravati, Lopburi, Ayutthaya and Rattanakosin, Yutthahatthi events, groups of people in Suphanburi, historical renowned persons in Suphanburi, important literature of Suphanburi, folksongs and Suphanburi in the present time.
Suphanburi National Museum was founded according to the project of the national museum in 1995 to serve as a center for studies of history, anthropology and local arts and culture of Suphanburi. The museum was established to respond to the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn given to the Fine Arts Department to add more fields in the national museum’s exhibition to reach the international standard.
The permanent exhibition of Suphanburi National Museum integrates the presentation of antiquities and arts with exhibition materials such as models and audiovisual equipment to allow visitors to acquire new knowledge and entertain themselves simultaneously.
The museum is a two-storied applied Thai-style building with the internal area, 3,200 sq. meters, including the office, a permanent exhibition room, a temporary exhibition room, a conference room, antiquity storage, information center for research and a services-information center.
