                Chao Sam Phraya National Museum is the first Museum that has made from  his Majesty King Rama IV preamble from  the discovery of Buddha amulets and gold ornaments worth an enormous amount in a tenures Phra Prang in Wat Ratcha Burana restored in Ayutthaya in 1957. At that time his Majesty the king. and her Majesty the queen came and saw the artifacts found along and then have the  royal remark to  the Minister of Education and the Fine Arts Department at the time that: "Antiques and art objects in the repository of restored  Phra Prang in Wat Ratcha Burana was reserved a museum to preserve and display for the public , It shouldn’t be preserved and displayed in  the other. "
                  Later on 10th December  1958, when the Fine Arts Department  tunneled down to the tenures of Wat Ratcha Burana for route people to visit the murals are available area of wall paneling 4 sides easily. They unearthed another seven paneled wainscoting panels all Buddha images  and many hundreds  thousands individually of them. The Department of Education has approved the request for donations from the public by give the  votive gifts for  finance the construction of a building to safekeeping in the National Museum and exhibit artifacts from Wat Ratcha Burana by named "Chao Sam Phraya National Museum" to commemorate His Majesty 2nd  Rachadhiratch (Chao Sam Phraya), who established Wat Ratcha Burana.

             Chao Sam Phraya National Museum was officially opened on December 26, 2504 by his Majesty the king and her Majesty the queen presided over the opening ceremony.  Also present will be on display from Wat Ratcha Burana Gold and  exhibits artifacts from various sources that found in Ayutthaya and neighboring provinces as well.

Principles of Chao Sam Phraya National Museum

                  Ayutthaya kingdom was one of the old capitals of Thailand before moved to Rattanakosin kingdom. By this cause, there are still many evidences that the prosperity of the past appear in abundance especially at a historic site. So when we entered the city of Abbottbad. The most excavation was in 1957, there was excavated golden model of pagoda and royal articles of use that was assumed as His Majesty 2nd  Rachadhiratch (Chao Sam Phraya) built to dedicate his elder brothers, they were stuff in  a tenures Phra Prang in Wat Ratcha Burana since 1424.  This excavation is the  great discovery of early Archaeologic. His majesty the king and her majesty the queen have gone to see the antigues and had the royal remark to built the museum in that place. Therefore the Fine Arts Department built “Chao Sam Phraya National Museum” on the middle of Ayutthaya for stuff the antiques to be the folk heritage and official opened since 1961 and moreover to be  the prototype of National museum so there  plan to exhibits by story line in history.
                  Accordingly the cleary large area of the museum supports to future expansion. The buildings has the objectives to particularly display by divide the exhibition with content in 2 buildings. The first building is the main of exhibition that emphasize in the discovering of antiques in and all around Ayutthaya area to give visitors a sense of harmony in the ambience of historic sites. The important antiques is Buddha relics was discovered in a tenures of  Wat Mahathat had reflected to the important of Buddhism in Thailand between 20th- 23 th BE. according with Buddha image sculptures in the parts of Thailand before discovered in Ayutthaya area. The important objects are gold ornaments as gold sword, regalia models, Buddha images sculpture and gold embossing , animals sculpture and gold embossing as the spectacular works of art is shown the culmination of the work of goldsmiths in Ayutthaya kingdom, hardly to find anywhere else even all over Southeast Asia already.
                  Beyond there are the votive tablet made by various materials along with the magnificent Buddha sculpture from different periods that found in Ayutthaya area and province nearby. Because there are various artisans gathered  in the Ayutthaya period so there are various objects in the aesthetics of the show in Ayutthaya are on display as the engraved wooden doors at the archaeological site in the province that became the inspiration for the modern handiwork. In the secondr building, There are the antiques and the art objects from other parts in Thailand to display to be knowledge about history of art. And there are Ruen Thai building between two building has shown about daily routine to be  line with the historic past and a way of life carried out in the presence of Ayutthaya province.

The establishment origin of  Chao Sam Phraya National Museum

               Since the end of September 1957, There are the illegals excavated a tenures into Phra Prang of Wat Ratch Burana restored, Ayutthaya province. However, it lacks the budget to build the museum building and Ayutthaya National Museum in Chankasem Palace is congested , dilapidated and unsuitable. But with royalty Majesty in remark to build a new museum building, according to the preamble wit the department considers that paintings which found in Wat Ratcha Burana in a mural on the former Buddhas and Asitimhasawk four valuable art. History and Archaeology that deserve to be preserved and find a way to let the students  have to watch murals. The Fine Arts Department has proposed a project to build a tunnel down to the tenures floor with a painting on the government. Which was approved by the Cabinet and Parliament approved the budget for this purpose of the budget in 1958.
              Later that 10th December 1958 while drilling the tunnel to the church, authorities have found the tenures where contain many votive tablets. The Fine Arts Department considered that there are many duplicate votive tablet from Wat Ratch Burana. The Ministry of Education has approved the Fine Arts Department to accept donations for the building of the Ayutthaya National Museum by the government's new tablet panels from Phra Prang Wat Wat Ratch Burana restored as a courtesy to people who donate. The money has been donated to this total 3,461,928 baht 22 satang. The Fine Arts Department has designed a new museum building. Ayutthaya has allocated land and 26 hectares of land in the area around the building of the National Museum, with Gen. Kittikachorn tenure as prime minister was a ground-breaking museum building on March 4, 1958.
              Museum building was completed on April 4, 1960. The only cost for the construction of the building by construction contractor bids totaling 1,718,500 baht. Subsequently, the department has created facilities and equipment to establish art objects and artifacts in the museum building, as well as paying for the space conquest, compensation tree and the building of the parliament, build a house of museum guards, build a fence around the museum and migrated police ancient palace which was originally located in this land to create a new land across the street. The costs amounting to 1,496,781 baht.  The total cost of all of this money 3,215,281 Baht, remaining money people donated another 245,701 baht 22 satang used to allocate the cost of the operation of the museum, according to the wishes of the donor.  Chao Sam Phraya National Museum was completed with funds from the treasure chest of his majesty 2nd  Rachadhiratch (Chao Sam Phraya) please create placed in Group Prang Wat Ratcha Burana since Year 1424 to royal charity dedicated commemorate and honor my father and two elder brother, Prince Aye Phraya and Prince  Yi Chao Phraya.
For this reason, the government has dubbed. "Chao Sam Phraya National Museum" to commemorate his majesty 2nd  Rachadhiratch (Chao Sam Phraya)  and a regional museum in Thailand. Operation over a period of 51 years (1961 - 2012) and has served the preservation and exhibition of valuable antiquities. So that future generations be aware and proud of the wisdom of the ancestors have built to show the witness a great nation successors to this day.

                The Fine Arts Department in response to the initiative for creation of the National Museum of Ayutthaya to place for preservation and exhibition of objects of art, antiques, and finished by the will. They scheduled opening of the National Museum building by respectfully invited King. And Queen to  opened Chao Sam Phraya National Museum officially on  December 26,  1961.
                In 1982, a year of events celebrating the 200th anniversary of Rattanakosin and advanced to the 21 years of the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, there was the exhibition"life in rural Thailand." to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of Rattanakosin's  
                In 1983, there was the exhibition." Pnomh Rung, the stone castle” to disseminate knowledge of the history, art style and caring.
                In 1986, 25th anniversary of Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, there was  the exhibition “ 25th year Chao Sam Phraya” to recalling the beginning of development, and the role of museums in major published works as well as the culture of Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.
                In 1987, the Fine Art Department and Gung Beng Gean foundation discovered Historic home of St. Peter (Church of the Dominican) in Portugal Village have found a skeleton buried in a podium ceremony expect that a skeleton of a pastor and found 200 skeletons well-arranged outside the church. Beyond that found the antiques as rood, beads, coils, lens of glasses and glasswares.
               Chao Sam Phraya National Museum gather knowledge for dissemination to the public continuously on an annual basis every year. In 2005 was the year to celebration 80thKing Bhumibol Adulyadej 's   Birthday Anniversary. The Fine Arts Department presented the royal Smayya. "Father of the Heritage Conservation Thailand" with events in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's "moral track Bodhisattva” at Chao Sam Phraya National Museum on Apirl 2, 2007 to published a story about Buddha both philosophical and doctrinal concepts that influential and deeply embedded in ideas and practices of Thailand for a long time and handed down to the present.  
                In 2009, .the Museum is open nightly under. "Museum Night" to serve the public and tourists to worship the relics on  Chao Sam Phraya National Museum during a joint Ayutthaya World Heritage and Red Cross Fair
                On October 4, 2010 the Fine Arts Department has organized Happy Family Museum Sunday market atmosphere in the Ayutthaya period in the title “ The land market of Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.” this event was in addition  to educate and entertain  the tourists then also received support from the community and the store as well with project to develop "Palace, Temple,  Market and commune" is an ongoing project by pulling the tourists who visit the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum but the project closed down cause due regard to security and the shortage of staff and budget support.
