Special exhibition on the eve of Thai Museum entitled “ The Memorial to Jira Jongon”
During 12 September-30 October 2014, the Bureau of the National Museum had special exhibition entitled “The Memorial to Jira Jongon” at front section of Siwamokkhaphiman Royal Hall. People can be viewed without charge.
The exhibition is held to honor professor Jira Jongon, the first director of the National Museum division. Disseminate the management of the National Museum of Thailand, Developing by the standards based of Museology. She was the founder of Thail museum affairs to growth and progress well known in international museum and step up to the leadership in regional level.
The content of exhibition Start with professor Jira Jongon’s biography since childhood, family and education that was fundamental lifestyle. When entering entered government service in the Department of Fine Arts, dedication to duty assigned in the organize several of National Museum in the Fine Arts Department had extended that period of the National Museum to the regions. Until she had been entrusted with the full responsibility as Director of the National Museum division, the new division in the Department of Fine Arts. There was simulation of professor Jira Jongon’s office, working table, chair, book cabinet, instrument, old photos, documents, ext notes with her handwriting, etc.
For the visitors have known Professor Jira, The important piece of exhibition was “Jira’s portrait” that Painted by Mr.Jarus Keatkong, the national artist borrowed from the National Museum of Art including the short movie “Jirajundara..in memory” The wording of people who are close collaboration with Professor Jira in different status to share emotions and feelings, love, commitment, faith and confidence. Making the exhibition "“ The Memorial to Jira Jongon” more meaningful and will remain in the memories of those who work at the National Museum for the next lifetime.
